I hold a Personal Chair in the Division of Psychology at the University of Stirling, Scotland. My research is focused on how odours influence human behaviour.

Between 2014 and 2021, I served as Vice-President and then President of the International Society for Human Ethology. I am now a Trustee. 

I recently organised a Royal Society Theo Murphy international scientific meeting on Human Chemical Communication, in April 2019.
